Just had a wierd experience a few minutes ago. I was having a pity-party, reading Facebook posts about all the hard times so many of my friends are enduring, and dreading the task of spending too many hours on a Friday night, and again tomorrow, sending out letters accompanying long overdue invoices. Doing this is never a lot of fun. But its less fun this time of year when money is tight for so many people.
After reading one disturbing Facebook post from a dear friend, I got up from the computer and walked into the kitchen. I had barely got to the sink when I smelled what smelled like an old person's cologne. Yet there was no one there and no one had been in my home all day except for me. It was not frightening. Just odd. The cologne smelled familiar, yet I could not place it.
I had a similar experience in the early 1990's. I was at my desk, reading, when I suddenly smelled smoke of the cherry pip tobacco that my grandfather used to smoke. He'd been dead at that point in time for about ten years. It smelled like he was standing on my left. And then it was gone.
Just curious if anybody has ever had such an experience?
