Ever Been Visited by a Ghost?

Just had a wierd experience a few minutes ago.  I was having a pity-party, reading Facebook posts about all the hard times so many of my friends are enduring, and dreading the task of spending too many hours on a Friday night, and again tomorrow, sending out letters accompanying long overdue invoices.  Doing this is never a lot of fun.  But its less fun this time of year when money is tight for so many people.

After reading one disturbing Facebook post from a dear friend, I got up from the computer and walked into the kitchen.  I had barely got to the sink when I smelled what smelled like an old person's cologne.  Yet there was no one there and no one had been in my home all day except for me.  It was not frightening.  Just odd.  The cologne smelled familiar, yet I could not place it.

I had a similar experience in the early 1990's.  I was at my desk, reading, when I suddenly smelled smoke of the cherry pip tobacco that my grandfather used to smoke.  He'd been dead at that point in time for about ten years.  It smelled like he was standing on my left.  And then it was gone.

Just curious if anybody has ever had such an experience?

I used to live in an old apartment and would sometimes smell bacon being cooked.

It sounds to me like it is your grandfather paying a visit and all his spirit is doing is checking to see that you are happy. His spirit is likely to be smoking his usual tobacco as he walks around your home.

Several months ago I was sitting in my living room watching TV one night , which is next to our front bay window. The window doesn't have curtains, so is reflective of light in the room. I was not looking directly at the window, as i was watching the tv. When out of the corner of my eye I saw the reflection of what appeared to be a figure in a white shirt walk from left to right across our dining room entrance. The entrance was behind me and to my left. It only lasted a few seconds and the figure never emerged from the dining room at the other side of the living room or went back across. There was no one outside on my walk, no car had driven into the cul de sac.My wife was in bed asleep. To this day I do not know what, if anything, I saw. But I have no rational explanation for it. My wife believes it was the spirit of her late father who passed away in 2009, in our home.

I have had similar experiences at various points down the years. They always seemed to coincide with periods of huge drug injestion on my part. Coincidence? I think not.
